BANGKOK – A total of 34 Michelin stars were awarded to 29 restaurants in Thailand by The Michelin Guide at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse yesterday.

The Michelin Guide Thailand 2020, which covers Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Phang-Nga, revealed the country’s top dining establishments, of which 24 were awarded 1 star, and five with 2 stars.

Fresh on the list are Table 38 by New York’s Michelin-starred Thai chef Andy Yang; Chef’s Table by Hong Kong’s three-Michelin-starred French chef Vincent Thierry; 80/20 innovative cuisine restaurant; and Khao Thai restaurant – all from Bangkok, reported Bangkok Post.

Bangkok’s much-loved shophouse eatery Jay Fai retained its one-star accolade for the third year in a row, and still is the only street food stall to make it to the list.

Two-Michelin-starred restaurants include: Suhring, Le Normandie and Mezzaluna all of whom retained their stars; while new additions include R-Hann Thai and Sorn southern Thai cuisine restaurant.
