BANGKOK - A Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) forum later this month will explore ways in which the Thai resort of Pattaya can polish its image and lose its reputation as a destination for those seeking raunchy entertainment.

The Nov. 27-29 event at Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa will explore various approaches in forging new market potentials and explore  diverse experiences that destinations can offer visitors.

Under the theme ‘Redefining a Destination: Reviving the Past to Reimagine the Future’, PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2019 will explore the issue that while some destinations grapple with over-tourism, “others face the less-tangible challenge of managing unwanted and long-standing perceptions of their destination”.

The Nov. 29 conference day will be proceeded by technical tours to local communities on Nov. 28.
