The highly anticipated launch of ferry services between Singapore’s
Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal on 7 July
will put the wind in Desaru Coast Destination Resort’s sails.
Travellers
will soon be able to conveniently commute between Singapore and
Malaysia’s largest integrated destination, without the need for queuing
up at each country’s immigration checkpoint.
To
kick things off, Batam Fast will operate one round-trip service of a
330-passenger capacity ferry from Thursday to Sunday. It takes around 90
minutes to sail between the two destinations. Demand will then further
dictate the frequency and capacity of ferries.
Ferry tickets will be available for booking via desarucoast.com and batamfast.com on 30 June.
In celebration of the launch of its ferry services, Desaru Coast is
offering special packages featuring hotel stays, access to its golf
courses, admission to Adventure Waterpark, spa treatments and cycling
trips that include return ferry tickets. Guests will be able to choose
between packages targeted for quick day trips or longer vacations.
“Given the popularity of Desaru Coast and the south-eastern Johor
region, we are confident the new international connectivity route will
give holidaymakers a rewarding experience,” said Paul R. Gannaway, CEO
of Batam Fast.
