Macau is primed and ready to show off its tourism attractions while awaiting the full return of international visitors to the resort city.

The Macau government has been stringent is protecting the safety of its citizens during the Covid pandemic and said earlier this week that after “comprehensive analysis”, it was returning to “normalisation of epidemic prevention”.

China’s immigration bureau allowed mainland residents to travel to Macau from 1 November using an online visa system rather than in-person applications, a move that is expected to increase travel to Macau.

At the same time, the Macau authorities have announced that the number of quarantine requirement for foreign visitors entering from outside of mainland China will be changed from “7+3” to “5+3” from 12 November. This means that visitors will be required to undergo five days of hotel quarantine and three days of home isolation, rather than a seven-day hotel quarantine.

This is all good news for the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) whose director, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, last week launched the “Experience Macao Unlimited” promotional campaign with a virtual presentation to local media in Hong Kong last week.

The campaign promises monthly city highlights, including “November Formula” which will bring visitors to experience the Macao Grand Prix, and the newly renovated and enlarged Macao Grand Prix Museum.

“Dazzling Winter” in December will showcase illumination artistry.

Macau is also putting the spotlight on art and cultural tours in St. Lazarus Parish district as well as the culture, architecture, and mouth-watering tastes of Taipa.
