Brunei launches month-long festival to entice tourists

Initiated by the Brunei Tourism Board, in collaboration with ministries and private sectors as well as relevant stakeholders, the objective of this first-ever month-long festival is to increase the number of tourist arrivals to Brunei by developing an annual calendar of events that will attract both local and international visitors.

The inaugural Brunei December Festival officially launched on December 3 with a balloon release and ribbon-cutting ceremony. 

Initiated by the Brunei Tourism Board, in collaboration with ministries and private sectors as well as relevant stakeholders, the objective of this first-ever month-long festival is to increase the number of tourist arrivals to Brunei by developing an annual calendar of events that will attract both local and international visitors.

During the Festival, participants can look forward to over 40 activities and events happening in all four of Brunei’s districts, ranging from arts and culture, culinary, performing arts as well as sports and recreation. Examples include an Islamic tour, movie night at Jerudong Park Colonnade every Saturday, and a Creative Arts Festival. 

Also in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival is the Brunei Salebration organised by The Department of Economic Planning and Development, Prime Minister’s Office. The Brunei Salebration, which is part of the Government’s on- going efforts to promote Brunei Darussalam as a shopping destination, started on November 28and will end on January 31, 2018.
