Las Vegas casino operator Caesars Palace, Hard Rock International and Cambodian-based gaming giant NagaCorp are among 12 groups reported to be showing interest in a second casino licence for Australia’s Gold Coast.

The Queensland government has resurrected plans for an integrated casino resort after it was abandoned ahead of the 2017 state election.

The government is now calling for expressions of interest for the development without naming a preferred site.

Caesars and the Hard Rock Cafe — which operates in 75 countries — are among companies reported to be looking at the project, along with NagaCorp and The Star Entertainment Group.
