Introduction and History

The cruise liner Norwegian Spirit was built at Meyer Werft in Germany in 1998 as the SuperStar Leo. In 2004, it transferred to Norwegian Cruise Line to replace the Norwegian Sky in Alaska.

The ship is 880 feet long and cruises at up to 25 knots. The ship carries Scandinavian officers, an international crew of 912 and 2,018 passengers. Weighing 75,904 tons, this is a large, international-grade ship with a high percentage of balconies.
