Singapore will get an early look at Virgin Voyages’ new ship, the
Resilient Lady, when she makes her way to Australia at the end of next
The 2770-passenger ship – the third of four planned for the Virgin
Voyages’ fleet – will come with plenty of razzamatazz as she makes her
way from Athens to Sydney, calling in at Mumbai. Goa, Singapore, and
Bali before arriving at her home port, Station Pier in Melbourne.
The adults-only ship will carry many of the touches of Scarlet Lady
and Valiant Lady – the first two Virgin vessels: Rockstar suites, drag
show brunches, bungee classes and an app that lets guests order
champagne anywhere on the ship with the shake of a phone.
“We don’t have stuffy formalities. The ships are designed to feel
like superyachts with deck hammocks and outdoor exercise space,” said
Virgin Voyages president, Nirmal Saverimuttu.
There are no butlers or buffets on the ship and the biggest restaurant is 200 seats with all meals made to order.
“Australia and New Zealand was a natural extension of the brand,”
Saverimuttu says. “It’s very high in the list of where consumers wanted
to sail and also where consumers want to sail from.”
Resilient Lady will offer a mix of itineraries across Australia and
New Zealand, ranging in length from two to 14 nights, from December
