Suria FM radio station has Resorts World Cruises to thank for helping
it enter the Malaysia Book of Records as the ‘First Radio Station to
Broadcast Onboard A Cruise Ship’.
During a three-night roundtrip cruise between 9 to 12 January on the
Genting Dream that departed from Port Klang, Resorts World Cruises
hosted 71 guests – including Suria FM’s DJs, radio contest winners, crew
and technical sound engineers, local celebrities, influencers, media,
as well as Malaysia Book of Records official representatives – to
witness and certify this first-of-a-kind achievement in Malaysia.
Officials from the Malaysia Book of Records presented the
certificates to Suria FM and Resorts World Cruises representatives
during a special ceremony, which was held at Palm Court on the Genting
Dream.
Michael Goh, president of Resorts World Cruises, expressed his
enthusiasm at partnering with Suria FM to “be part of this Malaysia Book
of Records achievement”.
“Our collaboration is timely as our ship continues to homeport in
Port Klang until early 2024 to offer a series of cruises to Penang,
Singapore and Phuket with certified Halal food and beverage offerings,
enabling us to further grow and promote cruise vacations as an option
among Malaysians, especially for the Malay market segment”, Goh added.
