There’s good news for Phuket and great news for cruise lovers with the start of Resorts World Cruises 5-night and 3-night cruises to Phuket from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) aboard the Genting Dream.
The launch of Phuket cruises comes with an option to embark from Singapore for the 5-night Kuala Lumpur – Penang - Phuket cruises departing on 20 November 2022 and 12 March 2023.
Alternatively, guests can depart from Port Klang on 21 November 2022 and 13 March 2023 for a 5-night Penang – Phuket - Singapore cruise.
Nongyao Jirundorn, director Malaysia & Brunei, Tourism Authority of Thailand, welcomed the collaboration with Resorts World Cruises which, she said, would bring in more inbound tourists to Phuket and across Thailand.
Bookings will also open from 15 November 2022 onwards for the 3-night Phuket cruises from Singapore and the 3-night Singapore - Phuket cruises from Port Klang with sailing dates available between May 2023 and April 2024.
Michael Goh, president of Resorts World Cruises, said the introduction of Phuket as a cruise destination was timely and would further fuel the growth of the domestic and FlyCruise markets in the region.
Along with onboard activities and complimentary all-day dining options, Genting Dream will offer guided shore excursions around Phuket and to smaller islands such as Phi Phi Ley Island, Phi Phi Don and Bamboo Island.
As the World’s First OIC/SMIIC standard halal-friendly cruise ship, Genting Dream will offer Muslim travellers access to certified halal food and beverages, as well as vegetarian and authentic Jain cuisine.
