Passengers sailing with Dream Cruises will be able to get up close and personal with “Detective Pikachu” as part of the cruise line’s collaboration with the makers of live-action movie Pokemon Detective Pikachu.
Produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, Pokemon Detective Pikachu tells the story of Detective Pikachu (starring Ryan Reynolds) and Tim Goodman (starring Justice Smith), who join forces on a thrilling adventure in Ryme City, where they uncover mysteries in the Pokemon universe as they search for Goodman’s missing father.
From now until August 31, guests aboard Genting Dream, World Dream and Explorer Dream will be able to take part in the action through a series of interactive programmes such as a meet and greet with “Detective Pikachu”, a language academy which spotlights the “Pika Pika” language, a costume party, arts and crafts workshop, as well as thematic drinks and afternoon tea sets.
Genting Dream offers multiple two- and five-night itineraries from its homeport in Singapore, taking guests to various spots in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Penang, and Pulau Redang; Thailand’s Langkawi, Phuket and Ko Samui; as well as Indonesia’s Bintan Island, Surabaya and North Bali.
Guests who wish to depart from Hong Kong or Guangzhou, China may embark on World Dream for a variety of short- and long-haul cruise holidays, including the one-day Greater Bay Cruise, 2-night weekend escape, as well as the five-night itineraries to Japan’s Okinawa, Vietnam or the Philippines.
Explorer Dream, the newest fleet addition, will set sail from its homeports in China’s Shanghai and Tianjin to visit some popular destinations in Japan. From now until July 4, the ship will also feature aspects of Japanese culture through specialty foods like Agu pork, Wagyu beef and tuna, a tuna-cutting ceremony and Yukata dress-up party.
