HONG KONG – Dream Cruises’ Global Class ships are set to feature the world’s first DFS T Gallerias boutiques at sea when they make their debut in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

The whopping 208,000-tonne ships, the world’s largest with their 9,000-plus passenger capacity, will have the luxury travel retail concept as part of a newly-unveiled partnership between Genting Cruise Lines and retailer Starboard Cruise Services.

We know that retail and shopping is an important component of our guests’ vacation plans, and we are excited to have the highly coveted brands that both Starboard and DFS represent available on our ships,– Kent Zhu, president of Genting Cruise Lines

Nearly 18,000 sq ft on board the ships will be dedicated to luxury and upscale retail across various categories, including fashion and accessories, beauty and fragrance, watches and jewellery, and food and gifts.

The retail offering will feature “a combination of brand firsts, product introductions, and activations…specifically curated for the Global Class guest”.

DFS and Starboard, both Selective Retailing Houses within LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, will “leverage each company’s expertise for an unsurpassed shopping experience”.

“We know that retail and shopping is an important component of our guests’ vacation plans, and we are excited to have the highly coveted brands that both Starboard and DFS represent available on our ships,” said Kent Zhu, president of Genting Cruise Lines.

“We are excited to bring together, for the first time, Starboard and DFS Group. We’re both industry leaders in catering to the Asia traveller. Now, our combined expertise will elevate the cruise shopping experience to new heights,” stated Lisa Bauer, CEO and president of Starboard Cruise Services.

The tri-party partnership will also offer guests a seamless shopping experience across their entire vacation journey, from the comfort of their home to onboard the ship or on land at T Galleria boutiques.
