Belinda Hindmarsh has been appointed as the new group deputy CEO
global business at luxury cruise operator Ponant. She will succeed Hervé
Bellaïche, who is leaving after 10 years with the company.
With over 20 years of experience in the travel industry, Hindmarsh
has held senior positions at Aer Lingus, Expedia, and CWT (formerly
Carlson Wagonlit Travel). In her most recent role at CWT, she was
responsible for business development in the hotel division and
operations in China. Hindmarsh's extensive expertise will now be
utilised to head a large team at Ponant, overseeing strategy, product
conception, global business development, and marketing.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Hindmarsh stated, "I am delighted to join
CEO Hervé Gastinel and the incredible team at Ponant at this pivotal
moment in the company's growth trajectory. I am confident the team's
relentless focus on customer experience and innovation will continue to
deliver unforgettable memories for our guests alongside unprecedented
business growth."
During his tenure, Bellaïche played a crucial role in Ponant's
expansion, leading to a seven-fold increase in turnover. His efforts
included implementing a growth strategy that involved brand redesign,
moving upmarket, and expanding internationally, particularly in the
United States. Bellaïche oversaw the opening of new offices, successful
acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
CEO Hervé Gastinel expressed gratitude to Bellaïche for his
professionalism, commitment, and outstanding sales results. He also
extended a warm welcome to Hindmarsh, emphasising her knowledge of the
travel industry and vast international experience.
