Pan Pacific launches honest-to-goodness dishes for a good cause
Available from July 15 to August 15 at Pan Pacific Singapore, Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore, PARKROYAL on Pickering, PARKROYAL on Beach Road and PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road, a portion of the proceeds will be donated towards The Food Bank Singapore for the purchase of food parcels with wholesome ingredients for low-income households.
To mark World Food Day on October 16, Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) is working with urban farm Comcrop Singapore to launch sustainable dishes featuring locally sourced ingredients on its dinner buffet menu.
Last year when the partnership was launched, the money raised enabled the purchase of the largest number of food parcels ever received by The Food Bank Singapore, according to the PPHG statement.
To create the farm-to-table experience, PPHG’s team of chefs made use of assorted mushrooms, vegetables, herbs, eggs and fish from Comcrop as well as produce from farms in Lim Chu Kang, culminating in the following dishes: Spiced Dust Mushroom Fritters, Light Veloute Hairy Gourd Soup, Tea-Smoked Soft Yolk Egg, Baked Tilapia Fillet in Carta Fata, Baked Barramundi Fish Fillet, and Steamed Seabream Fillet.
“Our chefs [have] put their creative juices together to create dishes using Singapore produce to show our support for sustainable eating. We truly hope our diners enjoy these special creations, which are made with love for a good cause,” commented Gino Tan, area general manager for Singapore, PPHG.
Dinner buffet starts from SGD36++ (Mondays to Wednesdays) at PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road up to SGD72++ (Fridays and Saturdays) at PARKROYAL on Pickering.
